This is the apartment next to the hospital where we are staying.
Our meeting with the Mayor. I am standing next to the minister of health and r to l, the mayor, his aide, Dr. Larsen, our translators Tim and Ami who are brother and sister and siblings of the mayor's aide, and Elder and Sister Maynes. A press conference was held after this picture was taken. The mayor wants to advertise his initiative to strengthen the dental health of the local children.
This is my translator, Ami (an americanized version of her name. One that I can pronounce), and her brother, Bolt, the mayor's aide. This was taken outside the school where a dental cabinet, as they call it, was built to better serve the children. This is where I'll be working in the afternoons.
