Tim met us early this morning as we walked to the river to see the sunrise. As you can see it was a beautiful clear morning. Temperature about 35 degrees. We saw a group of women singing to the river. It is considered a source of good. I recorded it but it wont upload to the blog. These women come every morning to the river to bathe and sing. Burr on both counts. Tim said they recognized us as the dentists from America.
While at the river we met this man in Mongolian dress. Notice the big belt and the wonderful blue hat. I gotta get me one of those. The song etched in stone is a ballad to the river.
We taught in this elementary school this afternoon after working in the hospital clinic all morning. I told you orange was they're favorite color. Notice how clean it is. Each classroom is cleaned after every class session. The dentists here are all women and are quite good at taking care of the people with what they have. Their clinic is not stocked very well by American standards and both Dr. Larsen and I felt a little lost because we didn't know where anything was, and we don't read Mongolian but we got better. We will take turns working in the school clinic but this time we're taking many of our own supplies.
This is the elementary school we taught in this afternoon, the one with the orange floors. The children were so well behaved. Notice how they are sitting with their arms folded. They asked a bunch of intelligent questions following our presentation. I told them my grandchildren wanted to see them so I took a picture. Notice the Mongolian version of Madalynn sitting on the front row. All is well. Eating more meat than I thought possible. They serve us lots of meat for every meal. A vegetarian would not do well here.
